EKRO History
1949
The family-owned company was founded by Emmerich and Grete Kronsteiner and headquartered in Lunz.
1974
To expand, the company moved to Krieglach.
1976
EKRO expanded its range of products by adding site hoists manufactured by GEDA and also offers their customers various types of formwork systems.
1983
EKRO expanded its range of products by adding saws and bricklayer's work platforms manufactured by Lissmac.
1987
The new managing director, Erich Kronsteiner, transformed the company into E.&G. Kronsteiner GmbH. In addition, there was significant investment in large rental stock, which has been expanded continuously to this day.
1990
The Vienna branch office moves to the 10th district due to its better infrastructure.
1992
The ISO EN 9001 Quality Management System was introduced. Successful certification by the DNV company.
2000
Martin Rinnhofer joined the company as a managing partner.
2008
EKRO opened a pick-up depot in Linz/Pasching.
2009
The energy supply is connected to the local biomass power plant.
2010
Expansion of the business management by 01.10.2010: Managing Director: Erich Kronsteiner & Martin Rinnhofer, Authorised officers: Friederike Kronsteiner & Katharina Quidenus-Rinnhofer. Change of company name by 27.11.2010 to EKRO Kronsteiner GmbH. EKRO Kronsteiner GmbH is honoured as an Austrian flagship enterprise.
2012
On the 1st of June 2012, Friederike and Erich Kronsteiner handed over 100% of EKRO Kronsteiner GmbH to their long-standing partner Martin Rinnhofer and his wife Katharina Quidenus-Rinnhofer. In addition, EKRO expanded their range by adding products manufactured by DOKA.
2016
Extension of the distribution structure to cover the whole of Austria.
2017
New pick-up depots were opened in Asten and Taxenbach
2019
Expansion of the product range by adding PERI scaffolding and PERI DUO formwork
2020
The EKRO fleet was equipped with two completely new trucks with even more powerful loading cranes. The trucks will enable faster and more effective loading and unloading on construction sites. Next year, new assembly busses will follow for the assembly team in Vienna.
2021
The EKRO company structure was adapted and thus EKRO Kronsteiner GmbH became EKRO Bausystem GmbH on 1 November 2021. In April 2021, EKRO VM d. o. o. was founded together with Metal VM sh. p. k. as a production and sales company of EKRO scaffolding in Serbia. EKRO Bausystem Italy GmbH was also founded in South Tyrol in December.
2022
On the approx. 4,850m2 roof of the headquarters in Krieglach 1,070 photovoltaic modules with a total output of 428kWp (kilowatt peak) were installed. Ecological energy production covers 100% of EKRO’s own requirements.
